Functional Capacity Evaluations which document and quantify the limitations experienced by patients with Lipedema.  

In a 2-hour evaluation, a Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist will conduct a series of testing protocols used to measure and evaluate the physical limitations and restrictions resulting from Lipedema.

 These testing protocols are specific to the patient and personalized based on location of the lipedema such as in legs, arms, trunk, and any other affected areas.

An FCE is an important part of the prior authorization request that patients can submit document that the Lipedema surgery is not cosmetic and will improve function.
